Additional Information

Contingent values are not supported in the 3.x version of the JavaScript API that powers both Map Viewer Classic and ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. Contingent values are supported in the 4.23 release of the JavaScript API and the 11.0 release of ArcGIS Enterprise within the new Map Viewer. Contingent value support in offline map areas will be supported with the 11.1 release of ArcGIS Enterprise, available in March 2023. To take advantage of contingent values in both the new Map Viewer and offline map areas, upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 once available.

Workaround

The workaround uses attribute rules to control the attribute entries while editing the service online in the Map Viewer. The user wants to use contingent values to control what other users can input while editing this service. Since there is a bug with hosted layers with contingent values, the workaround was to use referenced data.

Add attribute rules (validation or constraint) to the dataset that use the Query Attribute rule for each subtype.
