Will Not Be Addressed
The development team has considered the issue or request and concluded it will not be addressed. The issue's Additional Information section may contain further explanation.
Additional Information
We contacted HP and determined that this is a known defect in the library they are using to do the processing of PDFs. We would recommend the user contact HP directly to report the issue, so they can be informed when a new driver or firmware update is released that will address this issue. Until then, the issue can be worked around by using the "Print As Image" setting in the print dialog of Adobe Acrobat/Reader under the "Advanced" button. Printing as Image will not show this defect.
Workaround
In Adobe Acrobat Reader, select File > Print > Advanced button, and check the box label 'Print as Image' at the bottom of the dialog. The dashed lines prints correctly. WARNING: If on the main Print page 'Print in grayscale (black and white) is checked on, 'Print as Image' is greyed out, so make sure to uncheck that box, which is the default setting.
