Character limit set in ArcGIS Survey123 Connect is not honored when submitting a record exceeding the limit.

Workaround

Setting a constraint using string-length(.) <= 7000 along with a constraint message of "Maximum 7000 characters allowed" prevents users from submitting the form if the character limit is exceeded.
