Additional Information

When publishing a hosted feature layer to ArcGIS Online, unless feature templates are customized, by default, the name of the layer is used as the name of the template. Changing the layer name after publishing does not automatically change the name of the existing feature templates. Similarly, if a new feature layer is created from the existing layer, even if the sublayer is renamed, the feature template's name from the original feature layer is maintained. The feature templates can be created or edited before or after publishing to ArcGIS Online: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/manage-feature-templates.htm
