CA-signed certificates are not preserved when upgrading the ArcGIS Enterprise portal to 11.5, which causes the portal to be not accessible.

Workaround

  • Before upgrading to the ArcGIS Enterprise portal 11.5:
    • Go to portaladmin/security/sslcertificates and note down the alias of the CA-signed certificate.
  • After completing the upgrade:
    • Stop the portal service.
    • Manually reimport the CA-signed certificate into the server.xml file.
    • Start the portal service and the portal site will be accessible.
