Blue selection highlight does not display in ArcGIS Online map viewer when selecting points from a map service if the points are symbolized with 'unique values', 'many', and the 'all other values' symbology parameter is unchecked.

This is not in the current roadmap.

Workaround

In ArcMap, make sure that the 'all other values' parameter is turned on under Layer Properties > Symbology before publishing the map service.
