Bentley's Pondpack program, ppkw08110151en Build 08110151, causes ArcGIS Desktop Version 9.3.1 to crash when opening ArcMap or ArcCatalog. Event Viewer shows the error occurs in mfc71u.dll.

This is a known limit for Esri as the issue is caused by Bentley Pondpack V8iWorkaround
Uninstall Bentley Pondpack V8i, ppkw08110151en - Build 08110151, using Add or Remove Programs.Install Bentley Pondpack V10, ppkw10010400en - Build 10010400, which is actually older than Build 08110151.Steps to Reproduce
