Description

ArcGIS Desktop may show errors or exit when geocoding a table of addresses against a composite locator that is published to ArcGIS Server.

Cause

ArcGIS for Desktop does not correctly handle a geocoding service that is based on a composite locator. This problem only applies to ArcGIS for Desktop version 10.2.

Workaround

This problem has been resolved and the fix is available in an ArcGIS patch. Download and install the ArcGIS 10.2 (Desktop, Engine) Geocoding with Composite Locator Service Patch.
