Additional Information

This is definitely an issue in Story Map Shortlist and Story Map Tour too: the way the global basemap extent is handled is different between those Story Map apps and the web mapping app. We chose the Story Map app behaviour by design to enable the map portion of the display to be moved. Actually neither the web map or the web app behaviour is ideal currently. We won't be addressing this but will be looking at this for future development of the places apps.
