Backslashes in JSON used as an input for a GeoEvent must be escaped in order for it to accept the input and send it the Field Enricher (File) processor for a join.

JSON & Java interpret backslashes as escapes so literal backslashes must be escaped in both inbound data streams and data files with enrichment data.
