Additional Information
This is as designed. The import symbology tool only imports symbology from another layer or layer file, it does not import editing templates. To access the templates, add the layer file to the map.
Workaround
Create a group layer
- In the Contents pane, right-click Map and select New Group Layer.
- Drag the feature class (with attributes field) under Group Layer.
- Right-click Group Layer and select Sharing > Share As Layer File.
Import Layer file in new Map
- Launch ArcGIS Pro. Drag and drop the data or open the existing project.
- Click Insert > New Map and insert the same feature class.
- In the Contents pane, right-click Map and select New Group Layer.
- On the Group Layer tab, click Import. Import the layer file and click Apply.
- On the Edit tab, click Manage Templates. Double-click the feature class in the Manage Templates pane.
- Click Attributes. The value in fields are retained.
