Attempting to select several non-adjacent features concurrently by using the shift key and the select feature tool within ArcMap results in extremely slow performance as the selection results are returned.

Workaround

The selection works as expected, when using either Oracle 10.2.0.3, Oracle 11.1.0.6 with ArcSDE 9.3.1 sp2 and ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 sp2 or using ArcGIS Desktop 10 client with Oracle 11.1.0.7 with ArcSDE 9.3.1 sp2.
