Attempting to reset the password for an account in ArcGIS Monitor fails and returns the following error message, “Cannot initiate password recovery User profile missing password recover security question- please contact your administrator” when the security question is not set.

Workaround

Set the security question right after the account is created by using the following steps:

  1. Navigate to ArcGIS Monitor Server.
  2. Click My Profile.
  3. Click Edit for the security question and set one up. Any attempt to reset the password after this is successful.
