Workaround
Option 1 Delete the version using ArcCatalog. Option 2 Close ArcMap, re-open ArcMap, and delete the version. Option 3 1. Open another ArcMap session and drag and drop a feature class (from default version) to the new ArcMap session. 2. Use the Version Manager to delete the version.
