Attempting to delete a file geodatabase using arcpy.Delete_management which contains a feature edited using arcpy.da.UpdateCursor fails, returning error 000601.

Additional Information

Use a delete statement, or wrap the cursor in a function to prevent locking. Refer to the discussion section in the UpdateCursor topic: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/arcpy/data-access/updatecursor-class.htm.

Workaround

Use the Calculate Field function instead of using UpdateCursor to calculate field values: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/calculate-field.htm.
