Attempting to connect to a different ArcSDE geodatabase version during the process of creating a spatial ETL tool in ArcGIS for Desktop returns an error.

Workaround

1. Use a connection file that is connected to the desired version.In ArcCatalog, right-click the ArcSDE geodatabase > Geodatabase Connection Properties, and select the desired version. While creating the tool, use the connection file from the following path, <a href="file:C:/Users/UserName/AppData/Roaming/ESRI/Desktop10.2/ArcCatalog." target="_blank">C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.2\ArcCatalog.</a>2. Setup the connection using the Parameters option, and change the version from the Navigator pane in the edit session of the spatial ETL tool once the tool is created with the default version.
