Workaround
This problem in most cases is a result of poor data modeling. This type of data is often seen with high rise condos, where the same floor plan is duplicated right on top of each other for every floor in the high rise. One workaround is the user should have one floor plan (i.e. one shape), then a relate to all the different owners for each floor in another table.Another workaround is to have a sub type for condo in the feature class, then don’t have the “must not overlap” rule set for the condo sub type.See kb34668
