Additional Information

The CSV or XLS file must be validated before geocoding. Run analyze_geocode_input() or publish the file manually to identify if the portal can find which (address) columns to use for geocoding. Additionally, the geocode_parameters argument must be provided for field mapping between columns of the file and the columns of the feature layer in order to publish using geocode_from_items().

Workaround

  • Change the output_type parameter to XLS or CSV.
  • Use the arcgis.geocoidng.batch_geocoding method.
