Creating map areas speeds up and simplifies the map download process for mobile workers and ensures all the data is available without an internet connection. The map area automatically downloads to their device upon opening the web map. If a map area is not created for the project, the Workforce layers and any sync-enabled reference layers download when the mobile worker opens the web map.

Workaround
