Additional Information

This is by design behavior in both the web designer and Survey123 Connect for ArcGIS. There are some reasons to do so: * A question is required for the field worker when filling the survey but not for a supervisor when reviewing or editing a survey for audit purpose. * The behind feature service created by a survey is not necessarily used only by Survey123 for ArcGIS. When it is used in other apps, setting 'Allow Null Values' may lead to inconvenience. The same design also applies to the default value setting. A default value set to a question in the survey is not applied to the default value in the underlying field.
