Workaround

  1. In /etc/systemd/system/geoevent.service, add LimitNOFILE=65535 in the [Service] section as documented in https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000016919
  2. Run systemctl stop geoevent.service to stop GeoEvent.
  3. The previous command will warn you that the file has changed and systemctl daemon-reload needs to be run. Run systemctl daemon-reload.
  4. Run systemctl start geoevent.service to start GeoEvent.
  5. Run systemctl show geoevent.service | grep LimitNOFILE. This will return 65535.
