ArcGIS Desktop fails to create service definitions for the geoprocessing services when a layer file saved from an event layer sourced from an SDE table is used by the geoprocessing tool.

Additional Information

This defect is not addressed. Re-submit if the issue occurs with the same workflow in ArcGIS Pro.

Workaround

  1. Save a service definition (.sd) file first instead of publishing the geoprocessing service from ArcMap.
  2. Click the 'No available connection' option.
  3. Publish the service from ArcGIS Server Manager using the newly created .sd file.
