ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 Help Search function does not work with Internet Explorer 8 and Vista OS. An Internet Explorer Script Error appears along with another window that says “Loading”.

Turn off Protected Mode setting. Open Internet Explorer 8 and click Tools > Internet Options > Security. Uncheck Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer).Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 and install Internet Explorer 7.Steps to Reproduce
