Applying the ApplySymbologyFromLayer function on a layer from the current map does not work from the script tool anymore as it does in ArcGIS Pro 2.4.

This issue is addressed in ArcGIS Pro 3.3.Workaround
Save the modified layer to a layer file and add the layer file to a map.
