Bug
Any special characters can be used while renaming layouts from the Catalog pane by right-clicking >Properties > General > Name, but using special characters while renaming by single-clicking layout returns the error message, "Name cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? & " < > |."

Workaround
