An error message, "Layers's data source could not be changed" is returned while trying to change the source of a view that is not registered with the geodatabase.

Additional Information
When an unregistered table or view is added in ArcGIS Pro, it gets added as a query layer. Click 'Edit Query' (pencil icon) in the Data Source section next to the Query, and change the source from the Edit Query Layer dialog. Clicking 'Set Data Source' allows user to set the source of the layer to a registered feature class.Workaround
Work with the views created from ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro.
