Additional Information
This works fine in ArcGIS Pro 2.4. A fair rewrite is done for side type and flat ends in ArcGIS Pro 2.4. At this point, the code base has changed enough between ArcGIS for Desktop 10.x and ArcGIS Pro that it is unable to be ported back to ArcGIS for Desktop 10.x.Workaround
- Use ArcGIS Pro.
- Buffer the features individually (select one, buffer, select the other, buffer, append).
