An error message, "An expected field was not found or could not be retrieved properly," is encountered while opening the attribute table after applying a definition query on the feature class that has a join associated with a standalone table present in a non-enterprise geodatabase.

This issue is not reproducible in the current version. During the ArcGIS Pro 3.4+ development cycle, an effort was made to fix query layer issues that involved joins. If the issue is reproducible in the current version, contact Esri Technical Support.Workaround
Use ArcGIS Pro 3.0.x or 2.9.x.
