After upgrading to iOS 12, Collector for ArcGIS (iOS) does not show the current GPS location when connected to a Trimble R1 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver.

Additional Information

This issue is not reproducible in Collector for ArcGIS on iOS 19.0.1.

Workaround

The connection to the receiver needs to be removed and readded.

  1. Set the Location Provider setting back to the default Integrated Receiver.
  2. Remove the Trimble R1 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver from the Location Provider list.
  3. If necessary, disconnect from the receiver in the GNSS Status app by setting the provider to Location Services.
  4. Disconnect from the receiver via Bluetooth and forget the device.
  5. Reconnect using the typical workflow. Bluetooth > GNSS Status > Collector > Location Provider.
  6. Collector now displays the GPS location as expected.
