After upgrading a version 9.3 Geodatabase from SQL2000 to SQL2005, editing a child version fails with Network I/O error.

Workaround

1. In SQL05, against the Geodatabase run: drop procedure sde.SDE_procedure_release2. Run Post install to upgrade repository.Start the service and editing the child version works.
