Additional Information

This is not a Map Viewer bug. Looking at the view, the capabilities for the service are set to "capabilities" : "Query." Edit the capabilities to "capabilities" : "Create,Delete,Query,Update,Editing." This is why Map Viewer or any apps did not display it as editable.

Workaround

To enable editing, navigate to the hosted feature layer view's details page, click the Open button, and click 'Add layer to new map with full editing control.'

Note:

  • This allows users to add only one layer view to a map with editing control. Adding multiple layer views is not supported.
  • This functionality is not supported in Map Viewer.

Use the following steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Download the hosted feature layer to a file geodatabase (FGDB).
  2. Extract the FGDB and open it in ArcGIS Pro.
  3. Use the downloaded data to overwrite the existing hosted feature layer.
  4. Delete any of the defective view layers, and the new view layers support editing as expected.

Note: Overwriting of layers is not supported if theĀ 'Keep track of created and updated features.' setting is enabled for layer views. The setting must be disabled on all existing layer views.
