Additional Information

This is expected behavior. When a map tour is first saved, the builder will use the subtitle (if there is one) to populate the SUMMARY field of the new web mapping application item that is created in ArcGIS Online/Portal. But many authors want the summary of the item to be different from the subtitle that appears in the story, so these are not synchronized. To update the item summary that is shared on Facebook use My Stories on the Story Maps Website (http://storymaps.arcgis.com/en/my-stories/) or edit it on the story map's item page in ArcGIS Online/Portal. There is a link to My Stories and a message about using it to make a story look better when shared on social media in the dialog box that appears after the story is first saved. We will consider syncing changes to the subtitle to the summary in a future release.
