After setting a Composite algorithm on a diagram template containing two algorithms, 'Reduce Vertices (default parameters)' and 'Rotate Nodes Along Links' in a personal geodatabase schematic dataset and saving these updates, the diagram template is completely deleted when the schematic dataset is reopened.

Workaround

Only configure the 'Geo-Rotate Nodes Along Links' algorithm on the diagram template and manually apply the 'Reduce Vertices' as a secondary step after the diagram has been generated.
