After migrating an empty SDO_Geometry feature class to ST_Geometry using the Migrate Storage geoprocessing tool, an error is returned: "The specified coordinate exceeds the valid coordinate range."

Workaround

After migrating the empty feature class to ST_Geometry, use the sdelayer command to place the feature class in load_only mode, back into normal_io mode, create some features in the feature class and then use ArcCatalog to recalculate a spatial index.
