Bug

After changing the data source of a layer, the value counts shown in the Symbology pane displays a question mark (?) for empty values, and sorting by count stops working.

This issue is not reproducible. If this is still an issue, please contact Esri Support Services.

Workaround

Once the Source data is changed, change the symbology to Single Symbol, and change it back to Unique Values to make the question mark disappear.
