After adding a new data store in ArcGIS Server, adding an input to the GeoEvent Server is delayed for minutes, depending on the size of the server site.

This is a known limitation prior to the ArcGIS Server 11.0 release. Refer to the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server blog, 'Monitoring a registered web server's service discovery', in Esri Community for more information: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-geoevent-server-blog/monitoring-a-registered-web-server-s-service/ba-p/889779. The behavior is changed in ArcGIS Server version 11.0. Registered server connections no longer perform full crawl of a registered server's REST Services Directory to cache information for available map or feature services.Workaround
After waiting for the initial slow load, this delay does not reoccur subsequent times the Add Input button is pressed.
