Bug
Adding items with the Owner sharing level to a group with member settings set to My Organization from the group's Content page only shows items shared with the organization instead of all organization contents, even though the item can be searched for from the general Content page on the My Organization tab.

This is a long-standing behavior. Content > My organization is different from the 'My organization' option that is seen under 'Add items to group'. See the workaround for an alternative workflow.Workaround
Go to Content > My organization, search for the desired item, open its item details page, and share it with the group. This works as long as the owner of that item is a member of the group it is being shared with.
