A survey configured to automatically populate data from a map in ArcGIS Experience Builder does not automatically populate if the survey is in a separate window.

Workaround
Use the Embed widget to embed the ArcGIS Survey123 URL, and use the 'Connect to data' setting to send data from the map to the ArcGIS Survey123 URL.
