Additional Information

The ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.x code would not display because the layer is referenced as a MapImageLayer rather than a TileLayer. The ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.x code needs to be a TileLayer. https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/api-reference/esri-layers-MapImageLayer.html states, "MapImageLayer does not display tiled images. To display tiled map service layers, see TileLayer."
