laptop and a wrench

Bug

A model with the Calculate Value tool does not recognize that a change from uppercase to lowercase is an edit. It sees them as the same and it thinks that nothing in the code block has changed and therefore never triggers saving anything to memory.

Additional Information

The work around is to make another edit, add a space of a line before the line you want to edit, in addition to the case change.

Workaround

Delete the number and the character before the number in the variable > Type the character in the desired case (in this case lowercase ‘d’ of ‘D5ar’)> Apply > OK.Reopen the Calculate Value tool > Type the desired number after the character (in this case ‘5’ in ‘dar’ as ‘d5ar’) > Apply > OK.Reopen the Calculate Value tool and the edit is saved now.
