Bug
A GeoTIFF displays in the right location but it is read as WGS_UTM_1984_17S as the projection in the properties when it is actually in WGS_1984_UTM_zone_17N.

it appears that the ony version this issue occurs is 10.1SP1 as the bug mentions. It has been fixed in 10.2Workaround
Redefine the GeoTIFF to WGS_1984_UTM_zone_17N. Navigate to ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Projections and Transformations > Define Projection.Steps to Reproduce
