Workaround
Run the Migrate Storage tool (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/migrate-storage.htm) on the offending feature classes to convert them into one of the supported SQL Server spatial types (GEOMETRY or GEOGRAPHY).
