The error message, "RuntimeError: Failed to evaluate Arcade expression." is erroneously returned when running the Calculate Geometry Attributes tool against a feature service that contains attribute rules with the 'Exclude from application evaluation' option unchecked.

This issue is addressed in ArcGIS Pro version 3.2, 3.0.6, 3.1.3, 2.9.11.

Workaround

Workaround 1: Have an active edit session (Save and Discard buttons under Edit tab, which causes the Manage Edits group to be available and not grayed out) prior to running the Calculate Geometry Attributes tool.

Workaround 2: Close ArcGIS Pro and stop the service in ArcGIS Server Manager. Launch ArcGIS Pro, open the Attribute Rules view for the enterprise geodatabase feature class in question, check the 'Exclude from application evaluation' option under the Execution section for the calculation rule and click Save. Close ArcGIS Pro and start the service from ArcGIS Server Manager. Then, launch ArcGIS Pro and run the Calculate Geometry Attributes tool.
