Additional Information

This seems to be hardware/driver specific issue. Unable to reproduce this issue with some other tested (eg. Intel HD 4000). Switch from DirectX to OpenGL rendering, as most likely this is a driver bug. Some early Intel chipsets might have better support for OpenGL than DirectX.

Workaround

Convert the extruded polygon (buildings) to multipatch by following the steps below:1. On the ribbon > click the Analysis tab > click Tools > Search for ‘Layer 3D to feature class’.3. Open ‘Layer 3D to feature class’.4. Input feature layer = buildings.5. Output feature class = multipatch name.6. Ignore the ‘Grouping field’ or set a field as a grouping field.7. Click Run.8. Symbolize the multipatch layer following the instructions of the exercise: ‘Create a cartographic 3D scene’ of the Virtual Campus.
