Workaround

Suppose "FIND1" is the old database and "FIND2" is the new database. After the data for a particular feature class has been successfully migrated to FIND2, you may attempt to reattach the attachments to the records using the steps mentioned below :1. Add the appropriate attachment table and feature class to the map document from FIND1.2. Open the attribute table for the FIND1 attachment table and add a new text field called “refcode.”3. Join the appropriate FIND1 feature class to the FIND1 attribute table based on ‘Object_ID’.4. Using Field Calculator, populate the ‘refcode’ field in the appropriate FIND1 attachment table using the ‘Reference Code’ field from the joined FIND1 feature class.5. Remove the join between the FIND1 feature class and the FIND1 attachment table.6. Add the appropriate FIND2 attachment table and feature class to the map document.7. Open the attribute table for the FIND2 attachment table and add a new text field called “refcode”.8. Save the .mxd and close ArcMap.9. Launch ArcCatalog, and navigate to the appropriate FIND2 attachment table, right-click on it and select Load>Load Data. Follow the steps in the wizard and load the data from the appropriate FIND1 attachment table. Close ArcCatalog when complete.10. Launch ArcMap and open the .mxd saved in step 8.11. Open the appropriate FIND2 attachment table and join the appropriate FIND2 feature class based on ‘refcode’.12. Using Field Calculator, populate the ‘REL_GLOBALID’ field in the appropriate FIND2 attachment attribute table based on ‘GLOBALID’ from the joined records in the appropriate element feature class.13. Remove the join between the FIND2 feature class and the FIND1 attachment table.14. Test FIND2 features to ensure that the attachments are indeed attached to individual records.15. Repeat for each FIND1 feature class with attachments.
