When filling out a text field within a repeat in ArcGIS Survey123, the character limit exceeded warning message does not show after the first iteration of the text field.

Workaround

One potential workaround is to increase the maximum character limit.

If increasing the maximum character limit is not a viable solution, it is still possible to search through the responses and notice that some of them are long enough to exceed the character limit. However, it is necessary to be proactive and know what to look for.

The error message returned at submission gives a clue to the reason for the failure by stating "String or binary data would be truncated", but this is less obvious or user-friendly than a message that appears in the UI prior to submission.
