- Make all needed edits or addition to the Status column.
- Go back to Visualization tab to see the symbology that is used to map the data.
- Click the Overview tab of the hosted feature layer and click 'Open in Map Viewer Classic'.
- Change the symbology to Status, and click Done
- Click Save As to save a Map.
- Go back to the item details page of the hosted feature layer.
- Click the Data tab and click the Fields tab, go to the Status column and the Create List option is available.
However, this may be a bug based on the Define attribute lists and ranges documentation found at URL: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/define-attribute-lists-and-ranges.htm
In the last bulleted statement, it states that “If you create a list for a field to which you have applied the Types (Unique Symbols) style, be sure the values in your list are the same as the unique values defined for your editing templates.”
