When ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.1 is installed but not ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop Patch Notification still attempts to download the Server versions of patches which are available for both products instead of detecting that only Desktop is installed. It points to the wrong URLs in Item Properties, and does not show manually installed Desktop patches after installation.

Workaround

Manually download the patches and use the PatchFinder tool to determine what is installed or not as opposed to the ArcGIS Desktop Patch Notification tool.
