When an admin user shares an item to a group in Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.1, the share shows as successful but the item is not added to the group when the item's sharing level is 'owner' and the item is not owned by the admin.

Workaround

There are three workarounds for this issue:

• The issue only occurs when the administrator attempts to share private items owned by another with a group they both belong to. If the sharing level of the item is updated to Organization or Everyone, then the administrator can share the item with the group. However, this workaround may not be acceptable or appropriate in cases where the item cannot be shared beyond the group.
• Request the item owner to share the item with the group.
• The administrator can change the ownership of the item to themselves, then share the item with the group. After sharing, change the ownership back to the original item owner.
