Web searches using the Search for Layers pane in a Portal for ArcGIS web map return the following error, "Sorry, an error occurred."

Searching for content through the Search for Layers pane using 'The Web' option relies on a now deprecated third-party API. There is no readily available substitute, and this option will be removed in a future version of the software. This function does not work in currently released versions of the software and cannot be fixed. To remove this non-functional option, set the webSearchEnabled option to 'false' as described in the following Help document, http://server.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/install/windows/configure-a-disconnected-deployment.htm.
